Dear Parents, Teachers, Students and staff of Tahoka ISD,

With continued concern and response to COVID-19 (coronavirus) please be assured we are focused on healthy activities for us all. At present there are no confirmed cases of coronavirus however national, state, and local health authorities as well as the Texas Education Agency are monitoring and providing information. The symptoms of the virus a dry cough, fever and shortness of breath. You are encouraged to see your primary health provider if you show these conditions.

According to the CDC and local health providers the following can slow the spread of the virus:

1) wash hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds

2) use hand sanitizer

3) avoid touching the face especially with unwashed hands

4) avoid contact with others that may be showing the symptoms of the virus

5) clean and sanitize frequently touched areas

6) cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue

7) stay home if you are sick or showing symptoms of the virus

At school we are taking the following precautions on each campus:

1) continued reminders to wash hands

2) continued reminders to use hand sanitizer that are in classrooms

3) daily disinfection of high traffic areas in the classrooms

4) disinfecting fogging of individual classrooms

Be assured we are taking proactive steps to help ensure the health and safety of all.
